Apple SSD Recovery

Initial Cause of Data Loss

A customer contacted us to recover data from his 512GB Apple MacBook SSD – Samsung MZ-JPU512T/0A6. It is an Apple MacBook internal SSD, and the SSD is not detectable and readable on the MacBook anymore. When he powers on the laptop, it fails to boot up, gets stuck on a folder icon, and failed to boot into the MacOS. It was sent to another recovery center to check, and they mentioned that the SSD was in poor condition and the data was not recoverable. He has many work files and email data that need to be recovered.

SSD Drives Recovery

EHDR’s data recovery specialist proceeded to diagnose the SSD and confirmed that the SSD was faulty. The recovery machine and recovery tools cannot access or detect the SSD, generating abnormal heat after powering it on for some time. After the confirmation, we proceed with the recovery. Chip-off recovery was applied, we got direct access to the memory chip, and all the available data were extracted to a new working hard disk. The chips are in a pretty decent condition. The recovery rate is close to 100%.

Data Recovery Outcome

He checked the data and was happy that all the data and emails were recovered and in working condition.

Suggestion

When it comes to a storage device, no matter what type of drive you choose, there is always a chance of device failure. When the device fails, looking for a professional service to diagnose and recover the data is recommended. If you have important data on the device, it will be best not to try to diagnose or attempt recovery as it might cause further damage to the device, and data will be lost.
